We just finished this book for my family and diversity class. This book is narrated by Georgina. She lives in a car with her mother and little brother. Georgina comes up with an idea to steal a dog so she can obtain the reward money which will allow her family to live somewhere other than their car.
This story is very poignant. It is a perfect book for children. It covers things from poverty, to doing things that are wrong.
Even though the ending was unrealistic. The book will make both teachers and students think and cause a lot of discussion about issues covered in the book. Even though there are some minor things present in this book that make it not as perfect of a read. I give this book 3 stars.
