Book review

I just finished the book south abroad by Pat conroy. It was really good. I didn't predict a lot of the twists and turns that the story took. The narrator is named Leo. His friends call him Toad. The story begins in the 60's. The story goes through the 90's. If I remember correctly. It follows Leo, and his friends from their meeting in high school until he has experienced a nervous breakdown and recovers from it. His recovery is a new beginning for him and his friends. But the new beginning effects him more than any of his friends. This story has tragedy, celebration, forgiveness, and a little bit of rebirth in it.
I highly recommend this book. I was reminded why I am a fan of Conroy's. My rating is 9.5. Hope that you will enjoy this book just as much as I did.

First challenge.

I just joined my first book challenge. Its called unbound.
I think that its going to be a lot of fun.
Here is the three questions that I need to answer.
1. What does feminism mean to you? Does it have to do with the work sphere? The social sphere? How you dress? How you act?
I believe that all of the above is a part of being a feminist. I don't believe that anything can be left out

2. Do you consider yourself a feminist? Why or why not?
I consider myself to be a very strong and determined woman who is both black and blind. I consider myself to be independent as well. That is my definition of a feminist. So my answer is yes I am a feminist.

3. What do you consider the biggest obstacle women face in the world today? Has that obstacle changed over time, or does it basically remain the same?
I believe that the biggest obstacle for women is to have it all. I think that we want to be independent, and equal contributors to the family. As well as participate in the raising of our children. However, we run into many walls that will not help us to accomplish these things. Most of these walls are placed in front of us by men. I also believe that we face another big obstacle. That obstacle places us against each other. If a woman chooses not to stay home with her kids. She is judged by the woman who does stay home. If a woman doesn't choose to marry and have children. She is then judged by other women. I think that this obstacle is more important than the aforementioned one. I think that as women we will go farther is we can come together and fight for equal rights, and first-class citezenship. I hope that we can abolish that someday.
